Lobert’s life is peppered with daily rituals and an essential one surrounds her daily mental health walks through her surrounding neighborhoods. This work was painted immediately following one of these walks that happened to find her in the middle of an empty playground during the cold, wet, and grey wintertime. The lingering spirit of leisure in pink, green, and orange shines through what appears to be a more translucent sense of storm, as if being amidst a childlike wonderland, albeit abandoned, had reinvigorated the artist for the day.
