An efflux of strokes that seem to be masked, cut, and pasted from another source bring a three dimensional conundrum to this piece created as a serious sojourn by the artist to the internal archives of her past in the United Arab Emirates. Tweaked toward yesterday by a perusal of a modern travel brochure, it’s as if she is layering her childhood memories with a current day reality and memorializing the best of both worlds, the old and the new, in a compilation akin to a souvenir diary: sand, sky, sea, warmth, and love.
