A frivolous abstraction returns in this sixteenth painting devoted to the artist’s childhood era in the United Arab Emirates. From literal interpretation via a discerned neuro-diverse vocabulary to explorations in abstract iconography, Lobert brings round her poetic painted journey to its basics. A recollection of sand, an immersion in sea, an excitement for gold, and a heart intricately diced through the process in showing her unique stamps of the soul retrospection that remains, forever embedded and archaeologically worthy of studied artistic fodder. Deliverance occurs—expression in hue, figuration, and shade, a pseudo postcard to the past yet a-throb with potential moments to come—hewn all from within.
