The sticky sweet lure of hard candy, transparent as glass, dominates this stage as thick, rich strokes of fuchsia, purple, orange, and blue fill up the frame in joyous melee. Taffy-stretched strokes layered with ripe abandon create piles of syrupy brightness. One final swath, laid front and center, mixes every color in a sloppy wet stripe, pregnant with the promise of more treats to come. The childlike piece tantalizes the memory banks of more innocent times and the abandonment of inhibitions that accompanies the purest glee.
