In her first Neon series painting Lobert plays for the first time with the electric properties of pink, citron, and lime, laying each color down in short, blunt brushstrokes as if investigating their properties for the first time. Something extremely feminine takes place as each smooth swath claims its space on her palette. Sparsely positioned on a white ground, this introduction to her new tonal interests creates a rapturous look at the blush temporarily commanding her creative soul.
