Boisterous strokes in ecstatic harmony combine, informing an outburst of raw, unfiltered glee; every inch covered by Lobert’s joyful engagement. Perhaps this ode to the United Arab Emirates contains the vast aquamarine sea, its periphery dotted by gilded architecture glinting with sparks of white light; or an azure sky flummoxed by a summer sandstorm. The artist’s use of the end of a thin paintbrush to randomly scratch the surface seems to carve her own space as her choice of gold leaf and gold paint accentuates a luxurious testament.
