Filmed while creating this piece, Lobert appeared confident, smooth, and calm—attributes duly articulated in the stunningly bold and dynamic composition. Masterful background depths of rich indigo and navy blue beckon dark introspection while playfully adorned with paler shards in icy cool hues. This nod to isolation’s intensely layered complexities and the artist’s impetus to explore them from her own internal space becomes punctured in the foreground by the accents of a customarily thrown brush. Like abstract periods, the distinct six blots pronounce a sense of non-verbal completion, an emotional investigation is now done.
