Slashes of dark green cover a background of muddled color, as if fresh life and sparks of purple are entering Lobert’s mindscape spontaneously to merge the organic and new with the repetitive and familiar. Forest green being a non-traditional color in the artist’s oeuvre, the hue sits atop the underlayer field like a conifer growing and sprouting atop what is fixed; a sense of new neural impetus overriding a default brain. There is growth and movement overcoming all. There is forever, birth. Something new is striving to thrive.
