Lavender fields, pink poppies, and indigo skies are evoked in this grand visual, paired poem to Spring. The three colors converge in a frenetic interlude, dancing in dialogue as distinctly as defining themselves. The brushstrokes, light and full of whimsy, interplay as if tousled by gentle breezes on an April afternoon. Delight is evident from the full use of canvas surface in which every corner is explored. The dark blue patch at the lower right corner of Bloom, when put side by side with the dark blue patch in the lower left corner of Blossom, conjures the presence of water and the flurry of seasonal flow. These two paintings were made almost identical for this series, which can be paired as a diptych or stand alone on their own.
